TO DEDICATE: To "set apart and consecrate"; to "devote wholly and earnestly"; to "set aside for a specific function, task or purpose."
When we "dedicate" our children to God, we do all of these things. Dedicating a child acknowledges God's sovereignty. As parents, we present our children before God and ask for grace and wisdom in carrying out our responsibilities. We pledge to raise them in a Christ-centered home, teaching them the importance of a personal relationship with Christ.
Last Sunday we dedicated Abbie in a wonderful ceremony at our home church in Lodi. Corey's parents came down from Coeur d'Alene to be a part of the dedication and my dad performed the ceremony. It was such a special moment and one we will cherish always.

Thankfully, Abbie was a perfect angel and didn't cry or spit up on anyone! And of course she looked radiant and beautiful. How could she not?

Lord, give us the grace and wisdom to raise our kids in a way that teaches them to love you, serve you and honor you always.
