I love last minute getaways!
I have a little tradition where I carve our destination location and the year in the sand whenever we go to the beach. Helps me keep things in order when I'm scrapbooking the pictures! :)
We spent Saturday on a great beach in Monterey. It was super windy, but the sun was shining and we had fun playing in the sand and surf.
After a day in the sun, we enjoyed a nice dinner and nighttime walk along Cannery Row.
Sunday morning we got up and headed to Carmel. The sun was shining again and we headed back to the beach for some more sand castle building, kite flying and playing tag with the surf.

That's the incomparable Pebble Beach golf course in the background.
After a fabulous morning on the beach, we took an afternoon drive along 17 Mile Drive. Man, the houses along there! "Yes please, Lord!"
Corey & Jayden stopped to feed a super fat squirrel along 17-Mile Drive.
And Jayden probably didn't really give a hoot about the famed, "Lone Cypress," but he did enjoy getting out of the car to snap a few pics.
It really was a great little impromptu weekend getaway. I love my family and can't wait for the next one!
